Terms
These terms cover the Sharpy app, your subscription and this website. By buying a subscription or using Sharpy, you agree to them. We've kept them as plain as we can.
1. Who we are
Sharpy is made and sold by Sameera Samarasighe, trading as Sharpy, in the United Kingdom ("Sharpy", "we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@sharpy.live or support@sharpy.live.
2. What Sharpy is
Sharpy is a context-aware agentic video editor for Mac. It watches and listens to your footage and makes editing decisions on its own, with full autonomy, while you stay in control of the result. It needs a Mac with Apple silicon (M4 or later), 16 GB of memory, macOS 26 or later and about 25 GB of free disk space. Please check your Mac meets these before you buy.
One plan, unlimited edits. Every subscription is the whole of Sharpy. There are no credits, usage caps or per-export charges: Sharpy runs on your Mac with local models, so nothing is metered. Edit and export as much as your Mac can handle. If you connect your own AI agent, such as Claude or Codex, that provider's own plan, limits and charges apply to it.
3. Your subscription and price
- Price. You pay the price shown when you subscribe, monthly or yearly, in US dollars. Our public price rises as more members join, but your price never rises for as long as your subscription stays active. If your subscription ends and you join again later, you join at the price shown then.
- Presale. If you subscribe before Sharpy opens on 9 October 2026, you pay for your first month or year when you buy, and that period starts on 9 October 2026. After that, a monthly subscription renews on the 9th of every month and a yearly subscription renews every 9 October.
- After launch. If you subscribe on or after 9 October 2026, your subscription starts that day and renews on the same day each month or year.
- The 20,000 promise. The first time Sharpy reaches 20,000 active subscribers, all of those subscribers (every active subscriber at that moment) pay half their price for life, starting from their next payment: next month on a monthly plan, or the next renewal on a yearly plan. For life means for as long as that subscription stays active. An active subscriber is one whose subscription is paid up and not cancelled; presale members count once they have paid. Subscriptions that have been cancelled, even while their paid period runs out, and subscriptions with a failed payment do not count and do not qualify. The count is the live number on sharpy.live. The promise happens once: it is not undone if the count later falls, and people who subscribe after that moment pay the price shown when they join. Halved prices are rounded to the nearest cent.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically and we charge the card you used until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time by emailing support@sharpy.live. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails and isn't fixed, your subscription and access may end.
- Taxes. Prices may include or have added any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live.
4. Refunds
All payments are final and non-refundable, including presale payments, renewals, unused time and partial months or years, except where the law says otherwise or as set out below.
- Your right to cancel (UK and EU customers). If you're a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days after buying to cancel a digital service. When you buy, you ask us to make Sharpy available to you from the start of your subscription, and you agree that you lose this right once your access begins. For presale orders, that is 9 October 2026: if you cancel within 14 days of paying and before 9 October 2026, we'll refund you in full.
- If we can't provide Sharpy. If we're unable to make Sharpy available to you at all for a period you've paid for, we'll refund that period.
- Refunds aren't given because your Mac doesn't meet the requirements in section 2, because you stopped using Sharpy, or because you forgot to cancel before a renewal.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
5. Your licence to use Sharpy
While your subscription is active, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Sharpy on Macs you own or control, to edit videos for any purpose, personal or commercial. You may not:
- sell, rent, share or give access to your subscription or the app to anyone else;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it or an open-source licence for a component permits it;
- remove or get around licensing, payment or security checks;
- use Sharpy to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
Sharpy includes open-source software and AI models that come with their own licences. Those licences apply to those parts, and nothing here limits your rights under them. You can find the full list inside the app.
6. Your footage and your videos
Your footage and the videos you make with Sharpy are yours. We don't claim any rights in them. Sharpy analyses and edits your footage on your Mac, and we don't receive it.
You're responsible for having the rights to what you edit and publish. When Sharpy finds music, footage or other assets from third-party libraries, each comes with its own licence and any credit it requires. Sharpy shows you these; you must follow them.
7. Autonomous editing
Sharpy makes editing decisions on its own. It is very good at this, but it can still get things wrong. Please review your videos before you publish them. You're responsible for what you publish.
8. Copyright and trademarks
© 2026 Sharpy. All rights reserved. The Sharpy app, name, logo, website design, text, graphics and code belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy or reuse them without our written permission, except for fair dealing such as review or commentary.
Demo footage on this website is from Mixkit and is used under the Mixkit licence. Apple, Mac, Mac mini, macOS and Apple silicon are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Sharpy is not affiliated with Apple. Other names and marks belong to their owners.
9. Updates and changes
We improve Sharpy continually, and updates may add, change or remove features. We may change these terms. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change applies to you.
10. Ending your access
We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or don't pay. We'll tell you why unless the law stops us.
11. Our responsibility to you
Sharpy is provided as it is and as available. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or suit every purpose. Keep copies of your original footage: we aren't responsible for lost or damaged files.
As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or lost profits, business or opportunity, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.
12. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live and keep the protections of your local consumer law.
